SNK and PLAION REPLAI join forces to re-release the ultimate home console on the occasion of its 35th anniversary. A tribute to the groundbreaking, leading hardware that set the standard for the golden age of sprite-based home arcade games.
Meet the NEOGEO AES+ Anniversary Edition, the legendary video game console, now reborn with its iconic, high-end design and unmistakable arcade quality in this limited, all-white edition. The NEOGEO AES+ is a hardware-faithful reissue of the original Japanese machine, retaining all the aspects that made it an icon of the 90s, while adding modern features and ease-of-use enhancements for the modern era of gaming.
Uncompromising game console
Gameplay on the NEOGEO AES+ is not achieved through emulation – instead, the console is powered by its legacy ASIC chips, redesigned to modern standards to accurately replicate the hardware and software of the original machine. The system plays native game software from both new and old game cartridges for the most authentic retro gaming experience. No emulation, no FPGA approach, but a true reincarnation of the console, re-engraved in silicon.
Retro gaming of the future
The NEOGEO AES+ retains the original look and feel, while simultaneously offering modern, user-friendly features such as a low-latency HDMI output (while retaining the original AV output for CRT monitor enthusiasts), DIP switches for language selection, overclocking, and various display modes, and the ability to save permanent high scores (using the included memory card).
Arcade authenticity
The NEOGEO AES+ Anniversary Edition comes with the iconic white Arcade Stick (wireless), a 1:1 replica of the original stick built to resemble the control panel on the legendary MVS arcade cabinets from SNK. The Arcade Stick is designed for the NEOGEO AES+ and connects directly to the console via a classic 15-pin wireless dongle (making it backward compatible with the original consoles from the 90s and forward compatible with the original wired Arcade Sticks from the 90s) for an unparalleled home arcade experience. This stick is the pinnacle of pure, no-compromise arcade experience, offering the look, feel, and fast response that defined an entire generation of gamers.
Exclusive White Metal Slug Game Cartridge
The NEOGEO AES+ Anniversary Edition also includes an exclusive, all-white Metal Slug game cartridge, so you can start the action right out of the box! Experience the explosive arcade classic that defined run-and-gun action. Blast your way through enemy bases, jungles, and deserts, rescue prisoners of war, and jump into the iconic Metal Slug tank as the explosive action unfolds on screen. Metal Slug is packed with humor, details, and pure 2D craftsmanship, and remains one of the most beloved titles in the NEOGEO library.
